Frequently asked questions

Will the result look exactly like my original?
The structure is kept - headings, lists, tables and images - but the new file follows a clean, consistent style. It is not a pixel-perfect copy of a designed layout, brochure or form.
Can I edit the Word file I get from a PDF?
Yes. Headings use real Word heading styles and tables are real Word tables, so you can edit, restyle and add a table of contents straight away.
Does it work with scanned PDFs?
Not yet. Scanned pages are pictures of text and need OCR, which is not included. PDFs exported from Word, Google Docs or other software work well.
Are my files stored?
No. Files are converted in memory and sent straight back. They are never saved, shared or used to train AI.
Is PDF Toolkit free?
Yes. It is free to use with no sign-up. Files can be as large as the limit shown in the upload box.
