About the Mermaid to Word converter

Why diagrams as pictures

Word cannot read Mermaid code, so pasting it into a document only shows text. Markdown Toolkit draws each diagram first and places the finished picture in the document, so readers see the flowchart or sequence diagram exactly as you designed it.

Sharp on screen and in print

Diagrams are drawn at twice the normal resolution and scaled to fit the page width, so they stay crisp when you zoom in, print or export the document to PDF from Word.

Edit the rest freely

Everything around the diagrams stays editable: headings use Word heading styles, so the navigation pane and an automatic table of contents work straight away. To change a diagram, edit the Mermaid code and convert again.

Private by design

Diagrams are drawn in your own browser. Only the finished document is sent to be converted, and it is returned straight away and never stored.

Diagrams come out as real pictures

Write Mermaid in your Markdown. Every flowchart, sequence diagram and chart is drawn in your browser and placed in the PDF, Word or HTML file as a sharp image, so readers see the diagram, not the code.

Supported: flowcharts, sequence, class, state and ER diagrams, pie and Gantt charts, mind maps, timelines and every other Mermaid type.

Frequently asked questions

Which diagram types work in Word?
All common Mermaid types: flowcharts, sequence, class, state and entity relationship diagrams, pie and Gantt charts, mind maps, timelines and more.
Can I resize a diagram in Word?
Yes. Each diagram is a normal picture in the document, so you can resize, move or caption it like any other image.
What if a diagram does not draw?
If its syntax has an error, the code is kept in the document and you see a warning, so the rest of the file still converts.
