About the CSV to JSON converter
Straight from a spreadsheet
Cells copied from Excel or Google Sheets are tab separated. Paste them in and the converter detects that, using the first row as the keys.
Typed values
Columns of numbers come out as JSON numbers, and true, false and null as their JSON values. Large IDs are not rounded. Switch Detect types off to keep every value as text.
Frequently asked questions
- Does the first row have to be headers?
- Yes, the first row gives the keys. Empty header cells are named column1, column2 and so on.
- Why did my zip codes lose their leading zero?
- They were read as numbers. Values with a leading zero, like 0123, stay text, but turn Detect types off if a column should never be a number.
- Is there a size limit?
- The conversion runs on your device, so files of several megabytes are fine.
