Great Idea Foundry JSON Toolkit

Convert JSON to CSV

Turn an array of JSON objects into a CSV file you can open in Excel or Google Sheets. Nested fields become columns like address.city, and every row gets every column.

How to use the JSON to CSV converter

  1. Paste a JSON array of objects, or drop a .json file on the editor.
  2. The CSV appears on the right with one column per field.
  3. Pick comma, semicolon or tab to suit your spreadsheet.
  4. Download the .csv file and open it in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets.

What you get

  • Nested objects flattened to dotted column names
  • Columns from every row, not just the first
  • Commas, quotes and line breaks safely quoted
  • Arrays kept as JSON text in their cell

About the JSON to CSV converter

Handles real API data

API responses are rarely flat. Nested objects are flattened to columns like customer.address.city, and rows that are missing a field simply leave that cell empty.

Spreadsheet friendly

Excel in many European locales expects semicolons, so you can pick comma, semicolon, tab or pipe as the separator. Values are quoted only when they need to be.

Frequently asked questions

What JSON can be converted?
An array of objects works best: each object becomes a row. A single object becomes one row, and an array of plain values becomes a single column.
How are arrays inside objects handled?
They are written as JSON text in a single cell, so no data is lost. CSV to JSON reads them back as arrays.
Can I convert the CSV back?
Yes. Press Use as input to switch to CSV to JSON, which rebuilds nested objects from the dotted column names.
